Our recreational gymnastics classes are intended to provide a safe and fun environment for kids to learn basic gymnastics skills. Gymnasts will commit a regular weekly class, where they will learn how to safely tumble, flip, and bounce while getting to use the full range of gymnastics apparatuses.
Gymnasts will gain strength, confidence, and flexibility in a structured and caring environment!
We have created a program with multiple levels, designed to help gymnastics focus on specific skills and make progress at a reasonable pace. Evaluations are held periodically to ensure that each gymnast can continue to be challenged and learn new skills as they advance through the levels!
To get started: Advanced registration is required to become a member and begin recreational classes. Enrollment for classes is rolling – as long as we have space in our classes, we welcome new members! Call us at 828-252-8746 to check for openings and schedule a free trial any time of the year!
(Ages 3-5 years old)
Each young student will begin to learn basic skills in a 45 minute gymnastics class. Instruction is given on tumbling, balance beam, bars, springboard and trampoline. The focus of these classes is to develop motor skills and body awareness in a fun, structured and disciplined environment. As our preschool students continue to improve their gymnastics skills and become more accustomed to a structured class environment, additional skills are taught. Students who demonstrate exceptional strength, talent, and listening skills may be asked to join our Invitational classes for a greater challenge!
We offer six levels of recreational classes for girls, ranging from very beginner (Red) to advanced (Purple)! Each student enrolled in our recreational gymnastics classes will receive instruction on all four Women’s Olympic Events (Floor, Balance Beam, Uneven Bars and Vault) as well as our 2 trampolines. With safety in mind, each student is guided through the skills on each event with emphasis on strength, flexibility, and progressions to help provide a good foundation to advance through more challenging levels. Our instructors provide a positive and supportive environment to begin to learn gymnastics. Beginner and Intermediate classes meet for 1 hour per week, and Advanced classes meet for 2 hours per week. All gymnasts have the option to enroll in more than one class.
Boys’ Gymnastics Level 1 & 2
(Beginner/Intermediate, Ages 6+)
Each student enrolled in our beginner & intermediate gymnastics classes will receive instruction on all six Men’s Olympic Events (Floor, Vault, Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, High Bar and Rings) as well as our 2 trampolines. With safety in mind, each student is guided through the basic skills on each event with emphasis on skill progressions to help provide a good foundation to progress through more challenging levels. Our instructors provide a positive and supportive environment to begin to learn gymnastics. Each class is 1 hour per week, with the option to enroll in more than one class.
Boys’ Gymnastics Advanced Rec
(Advanced, Ages 6+)
Each student enrolled in our advanced gymnastics class will receive instruction on all six Men’s Olympic Events (Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Parallel Bars, High Bar and Vault) as well as our 2 trampolines. With a strong foundation that has been developed, our students can begin to work more challenging skills. With a longer class time, our instructors can take time to reinforce good habits of proper technique and body positions that are critical to continued success in gymnastics. Each class is 2 hours per week.
Additional Recreational Classes
(Ages 6 and older)
Our Cheer Program is geared towards cheerleaders who desire to become better tumblers. This is a loosely structured 1 hour class that requires stretching and conditioning to help cheerleaders achieve their tumbling goals. Each class is 1 hour, with the option to enroll in additional classes each week.
